Although most of the Canadian population identifies as Christian, Christianity is on the decline in Canada. Society is becoming increasingly secular. Evangelicals constitute less than 8% of the population today (down from 25% one hundred years ago). There is freedom of religion, which is guaranteed by the Canadian constitution.
